The Supreme Court has provided guidance on the resolution of commercial disputes in India. In a recent judgment, the Court emphasized the importance of early resolution of commercial disputes, even those of lesser value, to create a positive image amongst investors about the strong and responsive Indian legal system. The Court also highlighted the need for amendments to the Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Act, 2015, to further improve India’s ranking in the ‘Doing Business Report’.
